Are you stuck with Shelx, going crazy with Crystals, WinGX sent you wobbly, LinGX left you slightly lost, APEXII left you for dead or just need some structural healing? Then perhaps posting here will help? Use this forum for general discussion about software, databases and web resources.

Anybody have any experience with Panalytical's HighScore program? For identifying minerals in a bulk soil sample (from an acid mine drainage site, lots of iron-sulfates), what would be the appropriate peak-search parameters?
Thanks,

Hi Karren
I must admit to my shame to being a Bruker and to a less shame a Scintag powder XRD user. So I am not familiar with the PAN highscore software. However I am going into Manchester Uni on Friday and they do have a PAN machine so I will pick the brains of the first person I see.

Hmmmm, unfortunately I couldn't find anyone who could show me the Pan machine. I could just look at the machine doing stuff and read the rather nice note:
DO NOT TOUCH THE COMPUTER WHILST.....
So I can't help. I will try again another day though. Perhaps Friday isn't the best day to visit the chemistry department?
