A sub area all about Topas for the Topas users out there - you know who you are. This is of course open to both the commercial and academic versions.

preferred orientation in TOPAS 5.0

Post by puklen » 26 Aug 2016, 09:37

Hello fellows,

How do I incorporate preferred orientation (PO March Dollase) in TOPAS for trigonal minerals (e.g. carbonates)?
Their cleavage is given as 4-digit Miller indices: h k i l (e.g. calcite hkil: 1 0 -1 0)

Can I just leave out the "i"?

Looking forward to some helpful advice.
